STORY BOARDS

It's quite common for film directors to draw a story board before starting their film shooting.
Story board shows every individual sequences. It is useful because film director and film crew know their plan and the know what is going to happen.

Ordinary life

This is Ordinary life created by myself. I have done 1 week pre production, 2 Days filming and around 2 weeks editing. I am very happy with the result.

Fortunately I have got some good feed backs of it. I have put my video on Facebook and I have asked people to put their opinion about it because I believe People opinion is important as they are audience.

Feed backs from Facebook !

Those people helped me to create the video !

To create my video I have inspired of this music video, called Ordinary people by John legend . My inspirations were about colour which is Black and white and music which is a  sad music.

Ordinary people (John Legend)

So In my video I have designed a character, who is a sad person who thinks life is just repeating for him, he is not enjoying his life and he doesn't really care about everything. I have chosen a music from Peyman Yazdanian (Days and Days) who is an Iranian Song writer and producer.

Based on my character's personality I was not able to put a cheery music because it is out of his personality.
I have preferred to keep my video on Black and White because it was more suitable rather than keep it on colour. however at the end of the video when the college door will close it turns from black and white to colour. My reason for that is because the character is not in the video any more, so it can back to normal.

Days and Days (the music I have used)

I have designed a CD cover's photo and I have put it earlier in the blog, but I have changed my mind about it and I have designed an other CD cover as the final design.

Morghe Sahar

This is an Iranian music video called Morghe sahar. This is one of the best music videos I have seen, because they haven't used any instrument and they have created the music by mouth ! There is an other related reason which is the director used split screen .

*THE FIRST PERSIAN ACAPELLA VIDEO*

Songwriter: Morteza Neydavoud
Lyrics: Mohammadtaghi Bahar
Arranger: Amir Azimi

Video by: Bluebox pictures - Spring 2012

Record , Mix & Master: Hamidreza Adab - Studio pop

DAVID HOCKNEY

This video has created by David Hockney. While I was stydying GCSE on Photography course I have studied David Hockney. In my opinion he has done a revolution on photography and film making. On photography he was cutting photos and layering them on top of each other.

The link I have uploaded has created by Davidi Hockney, so he used 9 cameras to create a picture, the idea of the movie is split screen. in the film, cameras are moving very slow, so it shows Winter, Summer, Spring and Autumn.

Inspiration: I have looked at this artis and I know him for a while. I have done split screen on my own project. After watching this video I have decided to split a part of my video to six, but I wasn't able to do it because: whole screen was 10 cm so I had to divide it to 4,3,4 cms, so in that case I was going to loose the resolution and I wasn't able to keep them at the same size because middle screen was smaller or bigger.
At the end I have divide the part to two.

Tuesday 08/05/2012

This morning I came to University with a great idea. Since Wednesday I have been thinking about my rich media project and as well as that I came out with an idea about second option on the brief which is: Produce a piece of interactive media that shows one journey from different/varying viewpoints.

In this project I am going to show my usual life since I wake up until I go to University. The camera should record the outside where is Cathedral then the camera should turn to my room  and it should continue to my bed, where I was sleeping. First it should record my foots then it comes up to my hands where I am holding a phone with alarm clock. As soon as I stop the alarm clock the music will start and I get off the bed and I start my usual things to do. For example: washing my face , changing clothes, drinking water and .... .

How ever there are some important things about my project which are:  I will split the screen to four and each screen will show a part of my body. A camera will record from rear, a camera will record from front, a camera will record from left and one Camera will record from right.

The video will be on Black and White and as well as that I am going to use fast motion that means I will frease myself on street to show the fast motion of people around me. I have designed two CD covers for front and back sides, so I will attach them.

These are only a sample, and they haven't finished yet.

SPLIT SCREEN: A LOVE STORY

Director: James W Griffiths
Producer: Kurban Kassam
Director of Photography: Christopher Moon
Editor: Marianne Kuopanportti
Sound Design: Mauricio d'Orey
Music composed by: Lennert Busch

This is a great video and the director used split screen, but the point with the video is, it has done in two or more different cities, but with the same situation. It was one of the first and on of the best videos I have seen about split screen. The idea of the video is so fresh and creative. Unfortunately I haven't used the idea of the video because: I didn't have time to create anything like that and as well as that I wasn't able to find similar situations.

SPLIT SCREEN: BEYONCE''COUNTDOWN'' VS ANNE TERESA DE KEERMAEKER

History: The earlier video highlights the work that "inspired" the music video for Beyonce's "Countdown." This second video puts the "inspiration" and the music video side-by-side.

HISTORY: Beyonce's "Countdown" video pays homage to many well-known women throughout recent history, including Audrey Hepburn and model Peggy Moffitt. However, most of the choreography and some of the cinematography, costumes and make-up used in the video are derivative of the work of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, a Belgian choreographer and dancer who was not as well-known by many young Americans until her work, uncredited, was pointed out in the video and others accused the video-makers of plagiarism. De Keersmaeker was not asked if her dance moves and overall style could be used and or mimicked for the video and was unaware of their appearance until she saw the video after its release.

This is not the first time Beyonce and her music videos have been called out for plagiarism or baring too much similarity to other work. Her last video, '1+1,' reproduces scenes from the unfinished French film, 'L'Enfer' (1964), starring Romy Schneider, while her upcoming video, 'Love on Top,' is a modern version of the music video 'If it isn't Love' by 80s R&B group New Edition. The singer also used dance routines from African dance group, Tofo Tofo for the video 'Run the World (Girls),' but included the dancers in the production. The singer has also been inspired by American choreographer Bob Fosse. The famous 'Single Ladies' dance bares striking resemblance to Fosse's 'Mexican Breakfast' and 'Something Better than This' (Sweet Charity), while Beyonce's video for 'Get me Bodied' is a modern update of the 'Rich Man's Frug,' another scene from Fosse's Sweet Charity. Most recently, the singer's live Billboard Music Awards performance was shown to be a near replica of Italian singer Lorella Cuccarini's live performance--it was later revealed that Beyonce contacted some of the same creators of Cuccarini's performance for her own performance. The original videos, as well as countless others that make comparisons between Beyonce's work and other work, can be found on Youtube. Beyonce has admitted to AOL Music and other sources that Youtube videos have inspired her work.

Both Beyonce and De Keersmaeker have made statements about the 'Countdown' issue and while the controversy is dying down, the video raised discussion about the differences between an homage, inspiration, reference, plagiarism, etc. Nonetheless, this video will hopefully show off the originals and pay some respect to both Beyonce and the original dancers, choreography, filmmakers, etc. Enjoy!

DAR ON SOOY

Director: Ashkan Naseri
This is an Iranian movie called Dar on sooy, it is about two Iranian Student who are living in the USA. The film is about their life. The director who is Ashkan Naseri used split screen in some parts. The movie doesn't show Iranian student's faces and it's on narrations and musics. At the beginning the idea of spliting screen came on my mind from this video, so after this video I have decided to create my video based on split screen.

Wednesday 02/05/2012

This morning I have attended to the lesson at 9am, after a while everyone have started to work and research about their project which is rich media. I have seen some videos on Youtube and I have got some ideas about what I will do in the future.
